Recipe: Mixed Berry Overnight Oats

This is an easy and nutritious prep ahead breakfast recipe with no cooking required. Oats and fruit from this meal provide a great source of fiber and antioxidants to start the day and the Greek yogurt and low-fat milk supplies you with enough protein to keep you satisfied until your next meal or snack.

Ingredients

4 ounces non-fat milk

¼ cup sugar-free Greek vanilla yogurt

1 tablespoon ground flaxseed

¼ cup rolled oats

¼ cup mixed berries

1 tablespoon sliced almonds

¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Add milk, yogurt, flaxseed, and oats to a jar or container of choice and mix until well combined. Then top with berries, sliced almonds and ground cinnamon.
  2. Close container and refrigerate overnight.
  3. Mix and enjoy the oats after 4 hours refrigeration. Best if consumed within 3 days and would not recommend freezing.
