Tammy Rose, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who offers therapy at Avance Care Behavioral Health at the Centers of Excellence in Raleigh, NC.

She obtained her Master in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and has worked in various mental health settings as a therapist for over 20 years. These include places like community mental health centers, substance abuse treatment facilities, private practices, North Carolina State University’s Counseling Center, and a specialized telehealth program for OCD treatment. Tammy’s focus is on helping clients from their early teens to later in life. Initially, she worked with women and adolescents dealing with substance use problems and offered family therapy. More recently, she’s been assisting college and grad students with academic and personal issues, using methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) for anxiety, OCD, and body-focused repetitive behaviors.

In her therapy approach, Tammy emphasizes collaboration and compassion, tailoring care to each client’s needs and goals. She believes strongly in everyone’s potential for growth and meets clients where they are, emphasizing their strengths to bring about lasting change. Tammy sees her work as a privilege, taking the time to build trust and understand her client’s needs thoroughly. She offers both short-term, solution-focused therapy and longer-term support for more complex issues. While Tammy has specific interests like women’s issues, OCD, anxiety, and depression, she’s equipped to address a wide range of concerns and welcomes discussing how she can help.

Outside of her work, Tammy enjoys exploring new coffee spots and hidden-gem restaurants, hiking the trails at Umstead and NCMA, spending time with her teenager, taking weekend trips to Virginia, and vacationing at the beach.
