Stacey Bean, MD is a board-certified Family Medicine Physician and Primary Care Doctor at Avance Care in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Dr. Bean graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC and completed her Family Medicine residency in San Antonio, TX. She has been a Board-certified family doctor since 2002.

Dr. Bean is proud to be part of a practice that provides evidence-based care to all patients equally, compassionately, and respectfully. Dr. Bean has studied the management of the perimenopause and menopause transition. She has trained in the needs of the LGBTQIA community and is passionate about providing specialized, comprehensive care to this community. She also enjoys working with patients who suffer from insomnia, anxiety, depression, and ADHD.

Her early career was dedicated to serving the needs of young women, with a particular interest in infectious disease prevention and healthy sexuality. She is proud to have published work on the initiation of female sexual education and empowerment training in the female juvenile justice system in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Bean’s last job prior to moving to North Carolina was fulfilling work at an inner-city women’s health clinic in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Dr. Bean lives in Chatham county with her husband, two children, and their beloved dogs. Her hobbies include baking, reading, and spending time outdoors. She recently was awarded the 2021 INDY Week award for “Best Primary Care Provider in the Triangle”.
