Mary “Faison” Knox, MD is a board-certified family physician providing primary care to adults, adolescents, and children in the South Park area of Charlotte.

She received her undergraduate degree in nutrition at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Public Health. Dr. Knox later went to medical school at the University of Florida and returned to North Carolina for family medicine residency training in Charlotte.

Dr. Knox’s philosophy of patient care has always been a holistic approach. Her background in nutrition has allowed her to understand how food choices, lifestyle, sleep habits, and relationships affect overall health and well-being. Dr. Knox believes that to care for her patients, it is vital to know what they are passionate about and their daily motivations. Dr. Knox wants to meet you where you are and helps you be the healthiest you can be. Dr. Knox has been practicing meditation and yoga for many years and one day hopes to be a yoga instructor, when time allows.

Dr. Knox has a particular interest in caring for children, as she enjoys watching the stages from adolescence to adulthood, treating non-surgical sports-related injuries, and preparing patients for international travel. Dr. Knox was awarded Charlotte Magazine’s Top Doc in 2022, and 2023.

Dr. Knox and her husband have two children and enjoy spending time outdoors camping, hiking, and biking.
