Liz Tampe, MSW, LCSW has been working in the mental health field since 2009 practicing in a variety of settings including private practice, community mental health, hospitals, and primary care settings. Her work as a psychotherapist helping individuals and families is very satisfying. She enjoys helping others through challenging times. Liz is also a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist and has years of experience working with adjustment disorders, disordered eating, anxiety, depression, relationship distress, substance use disorders, perfectionism, and people-pleasing. She has a special interest in helping those who are “stuck” in certain mindsets such as being a “nice” guy or girl. If you are feeling unappreciated, disconnected, discouraged, worried about what others think of you, or are not convinced anyone truly understands how you feel, Liz would like to help. If you are paralyzed with self-doubt and scared to take risks or make commitments or are unsure life is worth living, Liz can offer support and help you realize the joy of living again.
Liz uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, components of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Interventions as well as elements of Psychodynamic Therapy to help individuals and families overcome psychological challenges. She is committed to personalizing each therapy as much as possible to fit the needs of the client and is interested in achieving good outcomes. She aims to get clients feeling better quickly and has a special interest in brief treatment models for faster healing with options to extend into more growth-oriented work. Each appointment with Liz is an opportunity to learn and practice new ways to cope. Most sessions will end with a plan for what you will do between meetings to turbocharge your treatment. Liz is expressive and enthusiastic about helping others. Laughter is encouraged!
In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and traveling, spending time with family and friends, often in nature and/or with animals.
