Lindsay Patterson, MSN, FNP-C (she/her) is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner caring for patients at Avance Care in Garner, North Carolina.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Duke University and her Master of Science in Nursing from UNC-Chapel Hill. She received her training as a critical care nurse at Duke University Hospital. As a critical care nurse, Lindsay often cared for patients in their final stages. Her desire to help patients prevent the disease from progressing to these difficult stages or even developing ignited her aspiration to become a Nurse Practitioner and work in preventative care.
Lindsay’s encounters with patients are centered around creating a comfortable environment to provide holistic care while building a trusting relationship. She aims to collaborate with her patients to ensure their health goals are always the center of the conversation. Apart from chronic disease prevention, she is passionate about addressing mental health and women’s health.
Aside from bedside nursing, Lindsay has worked as a researcher on multiple nationally funded studies aiming to prevent chronic disease. She has partnered with local refugees who need assistance in addressing complex mental health needs and has volunteered with UNC’s mobile health clinic which serves disadvantaged populations in both urban and rural North Carolina.
Lindsay and her husband call Raleigh home and enjoy working on their house renovation project, going on camping adventures, and listening to live music around the Triangle.
