Kenia Martinez, MSW, LCSW, (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Avance Primary Care’s Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Treatment Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Kenia has a Masters of Social Work degree from State University of New York at Albany and a Bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University. She has experience providing mental health services to those who are struggling emotionally due to domestic violence, traumatic experiences, family conflict, and other external hardships.
Kenia has experience working with adolescents, young adults and adults, who have experienced mood disorders such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders, substance use disorders, adjustment issues, and stress management issues. Kenia uses evidenced-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Task-Centered model to help people meet their emotional wellness goals. Kenia uses a lens that is trauma informed, and strengths-based to understand the individual experiences of people.
Kenia is also fluent in Spanish and has a long history of working with people from culturally diverse backgrounds, as well as people from the LGBTQIA + community.
Kenia is originally from New York, but is now a resident of North Carolina. During her free time, she enjoys gardening, cooking and exploring nature alongside her adventurous Doberman and mini poodle.
