Julia Bumpus, MS, RDN, LDN, CDCES is a Registered Dietitian at Avance Primary Care in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
She is with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Julia completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Master of Nutrition at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
After graduating with her master’s, she couldn’t pass up an opportunity to move to Charleston, South Carolina and live near the beach. There, she worked as a nutrition care manager for a large Continuing Care Retirement Community. Two years later, she moved back home to North Carolina to be closer to family, working as a clinical dietitian in a small community hospital in Roxboro, North Carolina. Her passion for counseling grew as she provided more and more inpatient nutrition educations, cardiac rehab consultations, and taught monthly diabetes classes. Her true calling is a setting where she can teach, guide, and provide emotional support for those who want to use nutrition to achieve optimal health.
Aside from nutrition, she loves reading, running, walking the dogs, and anything else that involves being outside in the sunshine. She loves to cook and try out new, creative recipes for her husband, family, and friends. On weekends, she also enjoys painting, crafts, and other miscellaneous home projects.
