Carter Gitlin, DNP, FNP, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner serving patients at Avance Primary Care in Garner, North Carolina.
Having grown up in Wilmington, North Carolina, Carter’s journey led her to achieve a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University with a minor in child development and family relations. Carter’s nursing background includes an extensive focus on postpartum care and women’s health. Over the course of her nursing career, she nurtured a profound passion for tending to patients and their families during their most delicate moments. This desire to empower patients to advocate for their own well-being pushed her towards obtaining her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from East Carolina University.
Carter’s philosophy is to build a foundation of trust established between patients and their healthcare providers to deliver empathetic, patient-centered care. She exudes a deep dedication to educating her patients on disease prevention and the cultivation of a healthy lifestyle. Her expertise extends across the spectrum of life stages, with a particular focus on women’s health.
Outside her professional sphere, Carter finds joy in the company of her husband and their miniature dachshund, Otto. She delights in outdoor pursuits, a passion that remains consistent despite her distance from the beach she once called home.
