Cameron Capps, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing at Avance Care Behavioral Health at Center of Excellence in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Cameron received her Master of Social Work degree at North Carolina State University and Bachelor of Social Work at UNC Wilmington, with minors in Psychology and Applied Behavioral Analysis and intellectual and developmental Disabilities. Her experience includes working with children, adolescents, families, and adults including veterans and individuals with traumatic brain injuries. She uses a person-centered and holistic approach to care, along with a mixture of evidence-based practices. Cameron’s background includes working in intensive in-home, crisis intervention, intensive outpatient, Autism centers, foster care, and outpatient settings. She has worked on multi-disciplinary teams and has spent most of her career working with individuals with complex medical or educational needs. She specializes in depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, mindfulness, communication difficulties, trauma, and behavioral issues, especially with children and adolescents with IDD or Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Cameron is passionate about joining her client’s care team and supporting them in reaching any wellness goals they have. She works to build a trusting relationship with the client and works collaboratively to create a treatment plan and identify strengths and barriers to achieving it. She believes that one of the most important factors in treatment is the strength of the relationship with her clients, so she wants to ensure they feel comfortable and safe from the start. Cameron’s faith and beliefs have taught her the importance of walking alongside clients through difficult times and helping them to live healthy and successful lives.
Cameron is originally from Charlotte, NC but spent a few years living in New York City. She spends most of her time cooking with her husband, spending time with friends at Hurricane’s Hockey games, or visiting family. She enjoys listening to music, watching TV or movies, going for walks, and caring for her plants.
