Brooke Owens, LCSW, LCAS,CSI is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist at Avance Primary Care’s Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Treatment Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.
She has a master’s degree in Social Work and a certificate in Trauma-Informed Care from Widener University. Her bachelor’s degree in Psychology is from East Carolina University. Brooke specializes in addiction treatment and has over a decade of experience providing individual and group therapy through various treatment settings, including community-based outpatient, inpatient, Medication-Assisted Treatment, crisis services, and enhanced community-based services working with patients in the home.
Brooke works with young adult, adult, and older populations in treating substance use, depression, anxiety, trauma, and severe persistent mental illness. Brooke is LGBTQIA affirming. She takes a holistic, person-in-environment approach to treatment and believes in the value of therapeutic rapport to facilitate change and forward movement in therapy. Brooke utilizes cognitive/behavioral therapies, solution-focused, and motivational interviewing. She maintains a trauma-informed lens in providing services and is supportive of the harm reduction treatment model.
Originally from the mountains of Virginia, Brooke has lived in Raleigh, North Carolina, for over 30 years. She is passionate about serving the community, including volunteering to work with the homeless. When not at work, Brooke enjoys being outdoors, either hiking, kayaking, camping, or fishing.
