Anna Bennett, CRNP, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Avance Psychiatry in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Anna earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, where she first discovered her passion for mental health care. After working on a psychiatric unit at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, she returned to the University of Pennsylvania to complete her Master of Science in Nursing. During her Nurse Practitioner training, Anna also worked as a registered nurse on inpatient behavioral health units, gaining valuable experience, particularly with older adult populations.
Anna’s approach to care is guided by three key principles: collaboration, trust, and acceptance. She believes that psychiatric care is not one-size-fits-all and works closely with each patient to develop treatment plans tailored to their specific needs. Building trust is also a priority for Anna—she fosters open, honest conversations to empower patients to play an active role in their care and growth. Lastly, Anna focuses on acceptance. She meets patients where they are, creating a supportive environment that promotes resilience, growth, and a more fulfilling life for people of all backgrounds.
As a Triangle native, Anna is excited to be back in her home community. Outside of work, she enjoys running, hiking, golfing, and taking care of her bearded dragon and houseplant collection.
